How an auto call program works
Write a message that reads in about 30 seconds. The average person listens for 21 seconds, so the important part goes first. Record it from your phone using our recording line, which works like leaving a voicemail. We edit it, deliver it to live answers and voicemail, and try each unreached number two more times.
Standard auto calls
- Event invite. Ahead of a fundraiser, meeting or telephone town hall, a call to the participant list so they carve out the time.
- Auto-GOTV. Registration deadlines, how to request a mail ballot, election dates.
- Candidate awareness. A call from the candidate makes people feel they have already met them.
- Updates. Voter information, upcoming votes, what is happening in the area.
Auto-interactive calls
The listener participates, answers questions and takes action while on the call.
- Auto-patch. We explain the issue on an auto-dialer and transfer willing supporters straight to their lawmaker’s office.
- Auto-Catch and Release. Voters record why voting matters to them, then hear their own recording before Election Day.
- Auto-recording capture. Supporters record a message for your issue or candidate for use in ads, online or with legislators.
- Personalized auto calls. The voter’s own name, from your data file, inside the recording.
Best practices
Keep it short. Use a professional recording editor. Start with a clean list, which we can build or clean for you. Think about who should record it: the candidate, the president of the organization, a well-known endorser. And use a trusted vendor that knows the rules, because cheap auto call vendors have sent calls in the middle of the night and cut messages short. Auto calls are not possible in Indiana, Louisiana, North Dakota and Minnesota.
